Etymology
Cupressus refers to the Latin name for cypress.
torulosa refers to ‘torulosus’, meaning ‘cylindrical with bulges or contractions at intervals’; possibly referring to the structure of its ultimate branchlets.
gigantea refers to ‘giant’; indicating its potentially relatively large size compared to other Cupressus species.
